Featured Artist of the Day: Ingri Haraldsen

Ingri Haraldsen

Norway / Oslo

"I'm interested in the human relationship to nature and nature as mythology. The work becomes a kind of positive escapism, where the contradictions between the time that was and the times we live in today meet, as a fragment of a story. The elements of nostalgia is often not based on memory or a personal history, but rather a type of ownerless identity, where the focus is not in the subject, but on the totality of the image."

Featured Artist of the Day: Lucy Yu

Lucy Yu

Wellington, New Zealand
Drawing, Fine Arts, Illustration

"i now work from a studio that looks over the lush forested hills of Khandallah.
animals, plants and assorted wonders - synthetic or natural - all become symbolic manifestations in my illustrative work. the small, intricate, and nostalgic moments in life inspire me, and my female characters are often caught up in these fragments of time between connection and disconnection.
it gives me great satisfaction when my work can make someone smile, cry, frown, ponder,
or perhaps remember something special...
because those little moments are truly precious."
